Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange issued a strong warning to the state government, stating that it will face serious consequences if it proceeds with elections without addressing the Maratha community's demand for reservation. Jarange announced a large gathering called 'Mega Dasara Melava' in Narayangadh of Beed district, urging Marathas to participate in large numbers on the day of the Dasara festival. Emphasizing that he will not compromise on any demands, including the withdrawal of criminal cases against Maratha community members statewide, Jarange stated that the state government will suffer repercussions in the upcoming polls if it continues to ignore the Maratha community's demands. He urged the Maratha community to stand united in their fight for reservation, highlighting that this issue is not just about reservation but also about dignity and equality for Marathas who are facing significant challenges at the grassroots level. Jarange criticized some members of the ruling dispensation for deliberately creating obstacles, denying recognition to the entire Maratha community as 'Kunbis,' and proposing reservation from within the existing OBC quota based on legal and administrative concerns. Despite assurances from the state government, progress on resolving the issue has been slow, causing growing dissatisfaction within the community, while several political parties, including the ruling coalition, have yet to take a clear stance on the matter.
